  45.     sounding, but that's what caused the error.  (You would have
  46.     to see the "code" to understand why this happened.)  It has
  47.     now been fixed.

  70.     sizes has been replaced with a "Thank you" message.  Since there
  71.     was no reason to have the customer confirm a selection box
  72.     containing only 1 choice, it was therefore replaced.

  78.     now prompted to "Press any key" from the "Wait" screen.  Previously,

  81.     from finishing reading the "WAIT.TXT" file that displays during this
  82.     process.

  88.     for easier reading whenever an order form is printed, and when
  89.     the customer reviews their order on the screen.

  94.     now displayed at the bottom of the description window so that
  95.     the customer can keep track of his order easier.  This is useful
  96.     as an incentive if you tell your customer in advance that a
  97.     quantity discount will "kick in" after a certain number of disks
  98.     have been purchased.

  100.     The ability to filter in and out certain disk size formats with
  101.     the use of the key words "360", "720", "1_2", "1_4" has been added.
  102.     These key word "flags" are placed on the title description line
  103.     inside your *.CAT files and override the selection you have made
  104.     from the compiler in respect to the disk sizes that you offer.
  105.     Example, let's say that you normally sell low density disks to
  106.     your customers, but in the case of a huge disk set (e.g. The
  107.     Online Bible) you wish to only offer this title in high-density
  108.     formats.  By using the "1_2" and "1_4" key words, the 360K and
  109.     720K selections will be disabled when your customers attempt to
  110.     order this title.  The only drawback to this use of key words
  111.     is that you must then specify explicitly in each program title
  112.     the normal sizes available such as "360" and "720".  This means
  113.     more typing and eventually a larger final CATALOG.DAT file.
  114.     Key words (if used) are not displayed to the customer.  Like the
  115.     multi-disk flags ("*"), key word flags are hidden from the
  116.     customer's view.

  118.     F7 function key has been added that will display the customer's
  119.     computer system information (DOS version, video card, RAM, etc.)

  121.     A warning message to the user that their order has not been saved
  122.     to disk prior to exiting the program...has been added.

  137.     SHIPPING.TXT be missing altogether, shipping will be free and
  138.     no prompt menu will ever appear for the customer to choose from.

  141.     address format is specified as "United Kingdom" from within the

  162.     You can now specify a different .DAT file name to be used
  163.     with the catalog module.  In the past, CATALOG.DAT was always
  164.     used, and should CATALOG.DAT be missing, an error message
  165.     would be displayed.  Since some folks would like to maintain
  166.     separate catalogs, for instance a catalog for Avon products,
  167.     and another catalog for Amway products, this made things
  168.     difficult since each catalog would end up with the file name
  169.     CATALOG.DAT.  New with this version 2.2 is the ability to
  170.     manually rename your CATALOG.DAT file to whatever you wish,
  171.     and then pass that new .DAT file name to the catalog module
  172.     through a batch file or command line parameter.  For example,
  173.     once you have compiled your Avon product .CAT files into a
  174.     CATALOG.DAT file, go to DOS and rename CATALOG.DAT to
  175.     AVON.DAT.  Then you can compile a new catalog .DAT file
  176.     using your Amway product files.  Once this CATALOG.DAT file
  177.     is created, rename it to AMWAY.DAT.  With me so far?  OK,
  178.     then to use the catalog module CATALOG.EXE with both .DAT
  179.     files, you can set up a batch file for each catalog.  For
  180.     your Avon products, you can create an AVON.BAT file that
  181.     simply contains the words --> CATALOG AVON     For your
  182.     Amway catalog, create another batch file, for instance
  183.     AMWAY.BAT, and place the words --> CATALOG AMWAY    in it.
  184.     This way you can keep just one copy of the catalog module
  185.     on your distribution floppy disk, and still be able to
  186.     present two (or three, or more) different .DAT files to your
  187.     customers.

  189.         Modification to how vendor can setup his SHIPPING.TXT
  190.         file...  If you leave a shipping method withOUT a price
  191.         and withOUT an equal symbol (=), then there will be no
  192.         shipping charges computed on your customer's order.  This
  193.         feature has been added for those vendors who wish to
  194.         determine the shipping cost after they have received an
  195.         order from the customer (due to weight considerations).

  197.         When a selected item is removed from the "Review order"
  198.         listing, a short reminder message is displayed, stating,
  199.         "Avon Beauty Cream removed from order!"

  201.         The catalog run-time module (CATALOG.EXE) will now auto-
  202.         detect the disk and drive where the program was started
  203.         from and seek the .DAT file from the same path.  In other
  204.         words, if your CATALOG.EXE & .DAT files are on drive A:
  205.         but your customer starts the catalog from the C:> prompt
  206.         with C:>A:CATALOG, the catalog program will also open
  207.         the .DAT file on drive A:, since that is where the
  208.         program resides.  Earlier versions would have looked for
  209.         the .DAT file on the current drive/directory (C: in the
  210.         example above).

  257.     off and losing a .01 or two.  You can now have an order
  258.     totaling over $1,000,000 without worring about being
  259.     cheated out of a few cents!  I doubt anyone would have
  260.     ever discovered this bug, and if they did, I guess they
  261.     would not have been too upset over losing a penny on a
  262.     $10,000 sale.  <g>
